The first Danida Alumni Prize award ever goes to WHO Director- General

Dear Danida Alumni, 

For those who have not already seen the news on the DAN Facebook or LinkedIn group, we are happy and proud to say that Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreysus became the very first distinguished Danida alum to receive the newly inaugurated Danida Alumni Prize. The award ceremony was part of Danida Fellowship Centre’s 25th anniversary in Frederiksberg 31 August. Ms Ulla Tørnæs, Danish Minister of Development cooperation presented the award.

From BSU Master to UNLEASH

Congratulations to our three BSU Masters from Ghana, who were chosen among several thousands of applicants to participate in UNLEASH in August in Copenhagen.

The three participants selected are: Mr Eugene Dela Setsoafia, Mr Eugene Jojo Arthur and Mr Godwin Festival Boateng. They are part of a group of 76 Masters from Ghana, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya and Nepal, who have studed in Denmark on a Danida Fellowship as part of the BSU programme.

Henry Oboke, Uganda. Healing post-war Northern Uganda

The recent war in Northern Uganda was all-encompassing destructive. To heal the wounds and move forward, Psychologist and Danida alumni Henry Oboke has created a small army of Village Helpers. They provide basic problem-solving therapy and help to self-help at household level.
