Update on Danida Alumni Activity Grants 2020

As mentioned in our last newsletter, 11 grant applications were approved at the beginning of this year.
As the COVID 19 situation is still very unpredictable and the uncertainties around travel and gatherings unfortunately have not changed for the better, the recipients have found it impossible to carry out their activities within this calendar year. On these grounds we believe that it is unrealistic to run another call for activity grants in 2020.
Instead we encourage local networks and alumni to send applications on an ongoing basis should it be possible for you to carry out alumni activities in your local areas or online until we find it possible to send out an official call in 2021.
Who can apply and for what?
DFC offers activity grants to Danida alumni who are accepted as members of the Danida Alumni Network as well as the local Danida/Denmark Alumni Network in your country, if there is one. You can find an overview of established networks here.
You can apply for a grant with financial support of up to 9,000 Danish Kroner for an alumni activity or event within the following categories:
- Activities or events that strengthen the local alumni community
- Activities that promote knowledge sharing, networking, and collaboration
- Activities that promote sustainable development by addressing one or more of the Sustainable Development Goals
The activities could be webinars, seminars, lectures, study visits, exhibitions, fairs, networking and social events. It should be observed that a contribution to strengthening the local alumni community must form part of the core purpose of any proposed activity.
You will find more about the conditions for receiving a Danida Alumni Activity Grant in the latest call for grant applications.
If you are interested in applying for an activity grant, please send us an email and we will forward you the online application form.
If you have any questions, please contact the DAN team on alumni@dfcentre.dk.
