When Danida Alumni Network was launched in May 2016, Master's and PhD program fellows were first called to sign up. Since then, about 500 Danida fellows have joined the network.

Calling for short term fellows
The time has now come for the fellows on short term qualifying courses for professionals to join the alumni platform.

Of the 20.000 people from the global south that have received a Danida Fellowship since 1960s, about 2000 have pursued PhD or Master’s degrees while 18.000 have completed short term qualifying courses for professionals.

Built in phases
Danida Alumni Network is being set up in phases.
In the first half of 2016, the focus was on building and launching the web portal and reaching out to Master’s and PhD fellows, and to Danish educational institutions of higher learning to join the network. In addition, and in cooperation with the Danish embassies in Ghana and Vietnam two local alumni networks were established.
In the second half of 2016, the emphasis will be on enabling short-term fellows to join the network.
The next step will be to encourage Danish international companies to sign up. Company registrations on the web platform will start in the first quarter of 2017. It will enable Danida alumni and Danish business to benefit from each other’s knowledge and network.
