We are excited to announce that the latest application round and selection process for Danida Alumni Activity Grants has now been completed and the approved grants, covering a range of important SDG-related topics, will engage Danida alumni across three continents.

The outcome will see Danida alumni-led projects being delivered across five countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America, with the following seven activities having been approved for funding:

Burkina Faso: Training session for the benefit of the Student Delegates on civism and human rights, Sissili Province

Ghana: 1) Empowering rural honey producers with skills on how to produce honey within global standards, Volta Region, 2) Sustainable improvement of school sanitation for better health of school children in Ghana, Kumasi, 3) Science and Technology Seminar Series for Girls, Kumasi

Mexico: Antimicrobial Resistance, snapshots of Danish experiences, Mexico City

Nepal: School Based Disaster Risk Reduction, Gorkha District

Uganda: Sustaining young adolescents at school through menstrual hygiene management to achieve SDG3 & SDG4, Lira District

The deadline for applications under this latest call for proposals was on 21st February. The funding decision for Danida Alumni Activity Grants is made by a Selection Committee, consisting of representatives from DFC’s Research, Capacity Development and Alumni departments.

An important pre-requisite for all Danida Alumni Activity Grants is that they should aim to benefit the alumni network as a whole, whilst engaging as many local alumni as possible. More information on the grant requirements and criteria can be accessed here.

Do you have an idea for an activity that engages alumni in your country or local community? Keep an eye out for the next call for proposals that will be published in early June.
