Introducing Nina Vlemmings

I am a British citizen of Anglo-Nordic heritage, who grew up in Denmark. After many years in the UK and brief periods in Chile, Belgium and Australia, I resettled in Copenhagen four years ago, together with my husband.
My professional background spans both foreign policy and international development, with my early career spent as a trainee at the European Commission before moving to the advocacy team of the think tank ‘European Council on Foreign Relations’. Since then, I have dedicated around five years to strengthening and growing global networks and communities, primarily as part of the international youth entrepreneurship NGO and network ‘Youth Business International’ (YBI). Whilst at YBI I had the great pleasure of working with brilliant people from all over the world, with considerable focus on Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa.
I recently became a mother to a baby girl. Our daughter is happily settled into nursery and (just like her parents) is very much enjoying life here in Denmark! Taking on the role of Alumni Programme Officer here at DFC therefore marks the end of my maternity leave, and I am beyond excited to be taking this next step on my professional journey.
I’m passionate about multi-culturalism and the power of international networks, and am thrilled to be given the opportunity to explore these areas in depth as part of the DAN team. I very much look forward to working with DFC colleagues, our diverse alumni and other partners on creating strong communities both nationally and globally that deliver meaningful impact.
