Introducing Christine Bystøl - the new Alumni Programme Officer

My name is Christine Bystøl and I have joined the DFC staff as maternity cover for Nina Vlemmings. I am thrilled to be a part of the Danida Alumni Network team and I very much look forward to working with our many alumni and partners.
My professional life has taken me down many roads. I have a master’s degree in liberal arts and I taught language and literature to college students before entering the field of educational planning and facilitation as part of ActionAid Denmark’s training team. Providing young people with innovative and creative capacity building in order to lead social and political change in their communities was my main focus.
Whilst working for Action Aid I had the good fortune to spend three amazing years in Kenya where I dedicated much of my time to strengthening and growing local youth networks and immersing myself in the magnificent landscapes of the Central Highlands.
I believe that building solid active communities is a cornerstone in creating a lasting impact and I am always very excited to see them flourish and grow. An important aspect of growing strong networks is to tell stories and create awareness about the many activities taking place. I look forward to working with our alumni and supporting their endeavours, and to sharing their many stories.
After returning from Kenya, I resettled in central Copenhagen where I share my life and a small apartment with my 3-year-old son Louis.
