What a celebration of the very first distinguished alumnus Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who received Danida Alumni Prize 2017 on 31 August during Danida Fellowship Centre’s 25 years anniversary in Frederiksberg.

We want to thank everyone that took part in the event and made it a success. The warm festive atmosphere was indisputable, it was wonderful to be with so many of our partners, former and present Danida fellows, colleagues and friends.

Thank you to the invited speakers Prof. Holger Bernt Hansen, former Chairman of Danida Fellowship Center and Ms Ulla Tørnæs, Minister of Development Cooperation of Denmark.

A special thank you to Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General, who heartedly expressed what it means to be a Danida alumni.

The time I spent here as a Danida Fellow was so valuable. It made me a better scientist, and a better human. It gave me new knowledge and skills that I used to help my own people back in Ethiopia, Dr Tedros said.
