I have received great knowledge
I was happy to participate in “A Human Rights Based Approach to Development Programming" training in Copenhagen in 2017. It was my first training course in such a topic. I must say that I have received great knowledge.
The course helped me expanding my knowledge and expertise on the promotion and protection of Human Rights via different project ideas and activities. I also acquired new skills on how, when, and whom to address/approach/ or target when designing a project.
I work in The Danish House in Palestine, a cultural organization, and for a while, I had been reflection on how I could apply human rights based approaches to the cultural projects and programs I work on. After attending the course, I now go speak with the right holders and hear their needs, then I speak with the duty-bearers and see what they offer, challenge, or lack. Based on this knowledge I am writing more solid and well-designed concept notes, proposals, or project descriptions. Danida Fellowship Centre’s training course has helped me design projects that are truly based on rights holder’s needs.
